Hello, my name is Michelle and I am a Registered Psychologist and director of Kaimana Psychology Inc. I was born and raised in Saskatchewan. I completed my Bachelor of Arts with a Psychology major at Thompson Rivers University. I earned my Masters in Applied Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. My passion for Psychology has led me to many wonderful opportunities working for a non-profit children’s organization, the Calgary Board of Education, in-patient care at the Alberta children’s hospital, as well as private practice.

I am an evidence based-practitioner who has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. My style is very empathetic, non-judgmental (regardless of presenting concerns), direct, client centered, collaborative and culturally sensitive.

Throughout my experiences I have had the honour of exploring some of the darkest and brightest corners of people’s lived experiences, teaching me that people can overcome some incredible challenges and come out on the other side with strength and hope. It would be my pleasure to be a part of your therapeutic journey.

Hi, I’m Liza (she/her). Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through my work in the non-profit sector and in private practice. These experiences shaped my commitment to providing therapy that is accessible, culturally sensitive, and grounded in compassion. My clinical work includes supporting youth, adults, couples, families, neurodivergent clients, and newcomers adjusting to life in Canada. I have a particular interest in trauma-focused work and in helping clients make sense of experiences that have felt overwhelming or difficult to carry alone.

My approach integrates evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other relational and somatic techniques.

In our work together, my goal is to help you get to know your inner world with more clarity and kindness, strengthen what’s already working, and uncover new ways of coping and connecting that feel aligned with who you are. Whether you are navigating a transition, healing from trauma, or working to build healthier relationships, you don’t have to do it alone, we can move through it together.

Kevin didn’t begin his career in therapy—he started in law, following a path encouraged by his parents after completing a psychology undergrad. While practicing in a full-service law firm, he realized that what he enjoyed most wasn’t the adversarial side of the work, but the problem-solving, collaboration, and human connection he experienced with clients. He began to see that these were the moments that felt most meaningful and most aligned with who he is.

His work in divorce law also opened his eyes to how often relationships fall apart because communication breaks down long before anyone reaches out for help. This was disheartening, and it sparked his desire to support couples earlier—helping them rebuild understanding and connection rather than watching relationships dissolve.

Therapy offered Kevin the chance to make collaboration and meaningful problem-solving his entire job. Today, he brings a grounded, supportive, and practical approach to the individuals and couples he works with, helping them navigate challenges with clarity, compassion, and new possibilities.

His specialties include: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety, Stress management, Burnout, Depression & Men’s issues

Couples work: Divorce, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Infidelity, & Rebuilding connection, respect, and appreciation.

Kevin brings extensive experience from both hospital settings and private practice, where he has supported clients through a wide range of mental health concerns.

His integrative approach is can be described a socratic and more directive seeing the value in “truth over comfort,” he blends evidence-based modalities tailored to each individual — recognizing that healing looks different for everyone.

These include: Cognitive Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Existential Exploration, Reprocessing and Gottman Strategies.
